Delicious pork chops and stuffing,with yummy gravy. I got this recipe from Home Cooking Magazine years ago from Janice Goff. Everyone who makes this loves them,tasty and tender,too.

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 -6 pork chops
1 box stove top pork stuffing mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup water, mixed with
pork dripping
1/4 cup melted butter

Steps:

  • Brown chops.
  • Remove and add water to the frying pan.
  • Place chops in a single layer in a baking dish.
  • In a bowl,mix the vegetable packet from from the Stove Top mix with 1 cup very hot water and 1/2 stick melted butter.
  • Then add contents of crumb packet.
  • Mix well.
  • For as many chops,make a ball of stuffing and place on top of each chop.
  • Put soup into skillet containing the drippings,mix and pour over the chops and stuffing.
  • Bake uncovered, 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.

This is an easy casserole using pork chops, cream soup, pie filling, and stuffing mix it's a delicious comfort fall food we make in cooler weather.

Total Time 1 hours 35 minutes

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 1 hours 20 minutes

Number Of Ingredients 8

8 thick boneless pork chops
2 package of stovetop stuffing
2 cups hot water
1 can of cream of chicken or mushroom soup
1 can apple pie filling
1/4 teaspoon each salt, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper
1/2 cup Italian flavored bread crumbs or buttery cracker crumbs
Optional: any other boneless meats, any kind of cream soups will work, poultry seasoning on chicken or turkey, another type of fruit such as whole cranberries, peach pie filling, or mandarin oranges in the stuffing, a dash of cinnamon in the apple filling

Steps:

  • Mix stovetop stuffing in a bowl with the water.
  • This can be added to the bottom or the top of the pork.
  • I have done this both ways.
  • Pour into a greased 13x9 pan lined with parchment paper or foil lightly sprayed with cooking oil.
  • Place the stuffing on the bottom of the pan.
  • Scoop out the pie filling and evenly place on top of the stuffing and sprinkle the apples with cinnamon.
  • Arrange pork chops around the stuffing apple mix. sprinkle pork with spices.
  • Pour the cream chicken soup mix over the top of the pork chops and the rest evenly over everything on top.
  • Last top evenly on each pork chop with the bread crumbs.
  • Bake loosely covered with foil, at 350 degrees, in a hot preheated oven for around 1 hour 20 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake an additional 20 minutes until browned on top or until the pork is fork-tender.
  • Note: If the stuffing starts to dry out before the meat is cooked, splash with apple juice, white wine, or water (even chicken broth will do fine).
