Easy Pesto Pinwheels Recipe - Pillsbury.com image

Just three ingredients make a zesty appetizer filled with basil and roasted red bell peppers.

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count) or 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet
1/4 cup basil pesto
1/4 cup chopped roasted red bell peppers (from a jar)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate dough into 4 rectangles. Firmly press perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.
  • Spread pesto over each rectangle to within 1/4 inch of edges. Sprinkle with roasted peppers.
  • Starting with 1 short side, roll up each rectangle; press edge to seal. With serrated knife, cut each roll into 6 slices. On ungreased cookie sheet, place slices cut side down.
  • Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.

1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
1/3 cup prepared pesto sauce
1/4 cup roasted sweet red peppers, drained and chopped
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup pizza sauce, warmed

Steps:

  • Unroll crescent dough into two long rectangles; seal seams and perforations. Spread each with pesto; sprinkle with red peppers and cheese. , Roll each up jelly-roll style, starting with a short side. With a sharp knife, cut each roll into 10 slices. Place cut side down 2 in. apart on two ungreased baking sheets. , Bake at 400° until golden brown, 8-10 minutes. Serve warm with pizza sauce.
