"Glazed candied seared scallops "

Total Time 10 minutes

Prep Time 5 minutes

Yield 1

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 ounces Sea Scallops Chilled
1 tablespoon Butter
1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
1.5 teaspoons Minced garlic
1 teaspoon Shallots minced
1 teaspoon Salt and Pepper
1/3 cup white wine

Steps:

  • "Pull out all ingredients In a tiny bowl or glass, combine the oil and garlic 1. In a medium pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shallots and saute until tender and golden, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in the garlic (leaving the oil behind in the bowl) and saute until fragrant, about 1 minute more. 2. Stir in the wine and bring it to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer until the liquid has reduced by just over half. 3. Meanwhile, season the scallops with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large saute pan and add the scallops – be careful not to crowd them. 4. Sear the scallops until golden on both sides, but still tender to the touch – about 5-9 minutes depending on the size of the scallops. 5. Pour the wine sauce into the pan over the scallops, and shake the pan lightly to combine. "

PAN-SEARED SEA SCALLOPS IN HERB BUTTER WINE SAUCE | JUST A ...
If you love seafood, this is for you! Plump, juicy, pan-seared sea scallops are one of my personal favorites. These are great served as an appetizer or as a main course with a green salad and a baked potato. If at all possible, use fresh scallops that haven't been treated with an artificial moisture preservative. If not, you may use thawed, previously-frozen sea scallops, just be sure to choose the kind without any other ingredient listed on the package. As for the sauce, less is more because you want to let the flavor of the scallops shine. Add a pinch of fleur de sel to finish, if desired.

SEARED SCALLOPS WITH GARLIC BASIL BUTTER
Seared scallops cook quickly — within 5 minutes — and are best when enjoyed straight-away. If you’re serving them with pasta, vegetables or rice, make sure they are ready before cooking the scallops. Basil adds a lovely sweetness to the butter sauce, but if it is not available, a few fresh thyme sprigs will do the trick.
