SHRIMP FRA DIABLO RECIPE | ALLRECIPES

Shrimp Fra Diablo Recipe | Allrecipes image

A thick, spicy sauce of garlic, olive oil, and fire-roasted tomatoes is sauteed with shrimp or your favorite seafood. Legend has it that it was named for Michele Pezza, also known as 'Fra Diablo' (Friar Devil), who helped push Napoleon's forces out of Naples. Serve the sauce over hot pasta, or, my favorite, hot couscous cooked with olive oil and garlic.

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

¼ cup olive oil
1 shallot, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
1 (14.5 ounce) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
3 tablespoons tomato paste
½ cup dry white wine
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon dried parsley
½ tablespoon dried basil
1 pinch ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir shallot and garlic in hot oil until tender, about 5 minutes. Add red pepper flakes; cook and stir to release flavor, about 1 minute. Stir fire-roasted tomatoes and tomato paste into the shallot mixture. Thin the sauce by stirring white wine into the mixture; cook and stir until sauce becomes thick and bubbly, 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low. Add shrimp to the tomato mixture; cook and stir until shrimp are pink and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Season with parsley, basil, and black pepper.

TOP SECRET RECIPES | BENIHANA DIPPING SAUCES RECIPE
The origin of the name of this chain of Japanese steakhouses dates back to 1935. that's when founder Rocky Aokis father, Yunosuke Aoki, opened a small coffee shop in Japan and named it "Benihana" after a wild red flower that grew near the front door of his shop. Next time you're at Benihana, look carefully and you'll notice that bright red flower has been incorporated into the restaurants logo. With most of the cooking performed before your eyes on an open hibachi grill, Benihana maintains a much smaller kitchen than most restaurants, allowing practically the entire restaurant to become productive, money-generating dining space. The limited space behind the scenes is for storage, office and dressing rooms, and a small preparation area for non-cooked items like these sauces. These sauces will go well with a variety of Asian dishes and can be frozen in sealed containers for weeks at a time. If it's the Benihana Chicken and Steak you crave, you can find my clone recipe here.  Source: "Top Secret Restaurant Recipes" by Todd Wilbur.

MCDONALD'S MCRIB SANDWICH RECIPE | TOP SECRET RECIPES
If you're like me, that "limited-time" the McRib Sandwich is on sale is much too limited. But that's okay. If you've got a food processor you'll never have to go without the taste of the saucy sparerib sandwich that's dressed with pickles and onions and served on a soft, warm sandwich roll. The food processor is essential for grinding up meat that's been cut away from the bones of a large rack of uncooked pork spareribs. Once you shape the meat into patties and freeze it, you'll be able to make cloned McRibs any time you want in your own kitchen in less than 10 minutes. Follow these steps exactly and you will be shocked at how similar your home version tastes to the real McRib McCoy. Source: Top Secret Recipes: Step-by-Step by Todd Wilbur.
