I love crab dip but when my 3 sons were growing up I couldn't afford crab. In fact, the only crab in the house was ME! I got this recipe from a friend years ago. I believe I ate the entire bowl in one sitting. The imitation crab is just a white fish that you can find packaged in the fish section of the grocers. It's already packaged. Looks like crab,too. This would be a great appetizer to serve while you're finishing up with your Easter Dinner preparations.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 package(s) 16oz. sour cream
1 package(s) 8oz. cream cheese room temp
1 package(s) dry ranch dressing
1 package(s) imitation crab meat (it's cooked already)
- ritz crackers to serve on

Steps:

  • In bowl, beat or whisk all ingredients EXCEPT fish.
  • Chop up meat (more like chicken for chicken salad) Stir until blended.
  • Chill a couple hours while flavors marinate. Serve with crackers.

1 pound imitation crabmeat, diced
1 cup bread crumbs, divided
1 egg
2 tablespoon mayonnaise
2 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon dill weed
2 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Combine crabmeat, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, egg, mayonnaise, mustard, dill, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Shape into 8 equal patties. Place your remaining bread crumbs in a shallow bowl; dip each patty into crumbs to cover. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • In a large skillet coated with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, cook crab cakes over medium heat until browned on both sides.
