Ingredients: 0.333 c. of hoisin sauce; 1 tbsp. of lower-sodium soy sauce; 1 tbsp. of rice vinegar; 8 oz. of firm tofu, in 1/2-inch cubes; 8 oz. of angelhair pasta or thin spaghetti; 2 tsp. of dark sesame oil; 1 c. of snow peas, in 1-inch pieces; 1 c. of small broccoli florets; 1 c. of carrots, in thin half-rounds; 0.5 c. of onion, in thin half-rounds; 1 tbsp. of sesame seeds, optional

CHINESE NOODLES | HY-VEE - HY-VEE RECIPES AND IDEAS

This mildly spiced pasta is quick and easy and can be served hot or cold. If you like it spicier, add a little more hoisin sauce and some crushed red pepper when you dress the noodles.

Ingredients

0.333 c. of hoisin sauce
1 tbsp. of lower-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp. of rice vinegar
8 oz. of firm tofu, in 1/2-inch cubes
8 oz. of angelhair pasta or thin spaghetti
2 tsp. of dark sesame oil
1 c. of snow peas, in 1-inch pieces
1 c. of small broccoli florets
1 c. of carrots, in thin half-rounds
0.5 c. of onion, in thin half-rounds
1 tbsp. of sesame seeds, optional

Steps:

1.
To make marinade, in small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce and rice vinegar. Reserve 2 tablespoons marinade. Pour rest over tofu and stir to coat.
2.
Put tofu cubes on nonstick baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, turning once. While tofu bakes, prepare pasta and vegetables.
3.
Break pasta in half and cook according to package directions. When done, drain the pasta and toss with sesame oil.
4.
Add reserved marinade and toss again.
5.
Saute snow peas, broccoli, carrots and onion in nonstick skillet, with a little water to prevent sticking, until crisp tender.
6.
Add vegetables along with baked tofu to the past and gently mix. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.
7.
Serve hot or cold.
