THE TASTIEST BUTTERSCOTCH MOONSHINE RECIPE – HOWTOMOONSHINE

The Tastiest Butterscotch Moonshine Recipe – HowtoMoonshine image

This sweet spirit is perfect for an after dinner aperitif, to sweeten up a coffee or even to make your own alcoholic version of Harry Potter’s favorite butterbeer!Equipment:Heating sourcePotMixing spoonGlass jar with lid for storage

Provided by Craftstills

Total Time 30 minutes

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 20 minutes

Yield 5

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup water
1 cup raw sugar*
1 cup moonshine
1/2 cup brandy
1 tsp Butterscotch extract

Steps:

  • Place your pot on your heat source. Add the sugar and the water into the pot.
  • Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Keep a close eye on your pot so the sugar does not burn.
  • Once the sugar is completely dissolved, remove the pot from heat and allow it to cool completely.
  • These steps have made a ‘simple syrup’.
  • Once your simple syrup has cooled completely, you can add food coloring to give it its rich brown coloring if you used regular sugar. If you used raw sugar, your syrup will already be a nice brown hue.
  • Once your syrup has cooled completely you are ready to assemble the rest of the ingredients.
  • Fill a clean mason jar with your moonshine.
  • Add your simple syrup.
  • Add ½ cup of brandy
  • Add 1 tsp butterscotch extract.
  • Once all the ingredients have been added to the jar, place the lid on securely and shake for about 30 seconds. Allow the moonshine to sit for about 48 hours and you are ready to enjoy!
