Fried egg sandwich is an easy breakfast recipe. Crispy slices of toasted bread pair beautifully with the creamy, succulent filling that comes with the runny yolks and melted cheese.

Mayonnaise, 2 tbsp
White bread, 3 slices
Eggs, 2
American cheese, 4 slices
Iceberg salad,
Bacon, 2 slices
salt and pepper to taste,
Butter, 2 tsp

Steps:

  • In a medium sized frying pan, fry the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan and set on a piece of paper towel to absorb some of the bacon grease. Set aside.
  • Toast the bread slices in a toaster oven until golden and crispy. Then butter each piece of toast with about 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • In another medium frying pan, melt the remaining butter over medium heat.
  • Crack the eggs directly into the frying pan. Season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the whites are firm and the yolks are runny.
  • Place a slice of cheese on each egg. Cook for about 15 seconds more.
  • Spread the mayonnaise on just one side of each slice of bread. Add the iceberg salad, then another bread slice, followed by bacon.
  • Use a spatula to place the eggs topped with cheese. Season with salt and pepper, then top with the final toast slice. Serve and enjoy still hot!

My boyfriend made it for me after a really hard day. Ever since then it has become a comfort food. This recipe has been passed down through his family.

2 teaspoons butter
1 egg
salt and pepper
2 slices whole wheat bread
cheddar cheese
mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Place a small pan on a burner.
  • Add the butter and heat on medium high heat. (Make sure not to heat the pan on high, or else the egg will turn rubbery.).
  • After the butter has melted, crack the egg in the pan.
  • Let sit for about a minute.
  • Pop the yolk.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • When egg is set, flip over and cook other side.
  • Cook egg to your liking.
  • Meanwhile, spread mayonaise on bread and place cheese.
  • Place the cooked egg on top of the cheese, so it will melt.
  • Top with other slice of bread.
  • Enjoy!

When the butter has melted, crack each egg into the pan (make sure you crack the egg about 2 inches away from each egg). Season the eggs with salt and pepper. Pan-fry the eggs for about 2 to 3 minutes or until the white is firm and the yolk is still runny. To build the sandwich, divide the cheese between four slices of buttered bread. Season both sides of each tomato slice with salt and pepper. Place two slices of tomato on top of each piece of cheese. Divide the ham in four potions and place on top of the tomatoes. Place the fried eggs on top of the ham and place the remaining buttered bread on top of each fourth. Heat the saute pan. When the pan is hot, carefully add the sandwiches in the hot pan. Pan-fry the sandwiches for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until each side of the sandwich is golden brown. Serve warm. This recipe yields 4 servings.
