EGG ROLLS RECIPE: HOW TO MAKE IT - TASTE OF HOME
This egg roll recipe is truly a family favorite. My husband, Doug, makes them often for family meals and my sister serves them every Tuesday night at the restaurant she owns. Feel free to use sausage if you like food with a little more kick. —Donna Frandsen, Cohasset, Minnesota

- In a large nonstick skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain well. Stir in coleslaw mix, water chestnuts, onions, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger, salt and pepper. Cook and stir until cabbage is crisp-tender. , Position an egg roll wrapper with one point toward you. Place about 1/4 cup sausage mixture in the center. Fold bottom corner over filling; fold sides toward center over filling. Roll toward the remaining point. Moisten top corner with beaten egg; press to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling., In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375°. Fry egg rolls, a few at a time, until golden brown, 1-2 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. Serve with sweet-and-sour sauce.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F. In small bowl, beat eggs. Reserve 1 tablespoon beaten egg for brushing on tops of crescent rolls. Scramble remaining eggs.
- Unroll dough onto work surface; separate into 8 triangles. Cut cheese slices in half; place 1 half on each triangle. Top each with spoonful of scrambled eggs and 1 sausage link. Loosely roll up triangles as directed on can; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Brush reserved beaten egg on top of each crescent. Sprinkle salt and pepper over each.
- Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until golden brown.

- In a small sauce pan over medium heat, combine strawberries, water, and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Stirring frequently, cook until thick and jammy, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl and set aside. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese with sugar, sour cream, vanilla, and kosher salt. Using a hand mixer, beat ingredients until fully combined. Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape and spoon approximately 3 tablespoons cream cheese mixture into a line in the center. Fold up bottom half and tightly fold in sides. Gently roll, then seal fold with a couple drops of water. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil (it should reach 1" up the side of pan) until it starts to bubble. Add egg rolls and fry until golden, 1 minute per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with strawberry sauce.
