  • Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan) mark 4 and lightly grease and line a 900g loaf tin with baking parchment. For the cake, in a large bowl using a handheld electric whisk, beat the butter, sugar, eggs, soured cream, flour and baking powder until light and fluffy, about 3min. Spoon of the mixture into a separate bowl and beat in the orange zest and juice. In a separate small bowl, mix the cocoa powder and 2tbsp just-boiled water to make a paste. Add to the plain cake batter bowl and beat to combine. Dollop alternate spoonfuls of the 2 cake batters into the lined tin, lightly swirl together with a skewer or cutlery knife to marble, then lightly smooth to level. Bake for 1hr, or until risen and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Leave to cool completely in the tin. For the topping, slice the top and bottom off the orange and sit on a board. Cut away peel and white pith and then carefully cut between membranes to separate segments. Pat segments dry with kitchen paper and set aside. Mix the 2 chocolates, then melt 1/2 the mixture in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water. Leave to cool slightly. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment. Dip 1/2 of each dried orange segment into the melted chocolate, lay on the lined sheet and leave to harden. Put remaining chopped chocolate into a clean heatproof bowl. Heat cream in a small pan until hot. Pour into the chocolate bowl and stir until melted and smooth. Leave to harden a bit. Transfer cake to a board. Spread over the topping and lay on the dipped orange segments. Serve in slices.
