Steps:
- Rinse chicken with cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Cut into 1x1x1/2 inch pieces.
- Fill a deep fryer with corn oil, no more than 1/3 full. Heat to medium heat.
- Place egg and water in a small bowl and mix well. Add the flour, sesame seeds and salt, stirring until a smooth batter is formed.
- Dip chicken pieces in batter and drain off any excess. Add battered chicken, a few pieces at a time, to the hot oil. Fry about 4 minutes or until golden brown and done (remove chicken from oil to test). Drain on paper towels.

These crispy air-fried chicken nuggets are a quick kid-friendly dinner that parents will love too. The homemade nuggets are healthier than fast-food versions--and more flavorful, thanks to the cornflake coating. You can also cut the chicken into strips for air-fryer chicken tenders. Be sure to cook those 2 to 3 minutes longer, or until done.

- Coat the basket of an air fryer with cooking spray.
- Combine cornstarch, sugar, pepper and garlic powder in a shallow dish. Place buttermilk in a separate shallow dish and cornflakes in a third shallow dish. Sprinkle chicken with salt. Dredge the chicken in the cornstarch mixture, shaking off excess, then dip in the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Toss the chicken in the cornflakes to coat.
- Coat the chicken with cooking spray; place in the prepared basket. Cook at 400 degrees F until golden brown and cooked through, 8 to 9 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time.
