2 pounds carrots, sliced
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
Minced fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • Place carrots in a large saucepan; add 1 in. water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and set aside. , In the same pan, combine the butter, brown sugar, salt and pepper; cook and stir until butter is melted. Return carrots to the pan; cook and stir over medium heat for 5 minutes or until glazed. If desired, sprinkle with parsley.

1 lb carrots;
1 cup water;
2 tbsp butter;
3 tbsp brown sugar;
¼ tsp salt;
? tsp freshly ground black pepper;
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped.

Steps:

  • Peel and slice 1 lb carrots into ½-inch pieces.
  • Add sliced carrots and 1 cup of water to a large skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes or until carrots are tender. Then, remove the skillet from the stove. Drain water.
  • Return skillet with sliced carrots to medium heat. Add 2 tbsp butter, 3 tbsp brown sugar, ¼ tsp salt, and ? tsp freshly ground black pepper. Mix to combine. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn off the heat when the mixture of melted butter and brown sugar becomes thicker like a glaze.
  • Add the chopped parsley. Stir. Serve with your favorite dip or as a side dish.
