Breakfast BLT made with center cut bacon, lettuce, tomato and egg on whole wheat bread.

3 slices center cut bacon (such as oscar mayer)
1 large egg
2 slices light whole wheat bread (such as Arnold light (or gluten-free bread))
2 to 3 iceberg lettuce leaves
2 thin slices beefsteak tomatoes
1 tablespoon light mayo

Steps:

  • Heat a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook, 5 to 6 minutes, turning halfway until crisp. When cooked, set aside on a paper towel and wipe some of the fat, leaving a little to cook the egg. Crack the egg, cover and cook until the yolk is set.
  • Meanwhile, toast the bread. Assemble the sandwich by putting the mayo on the bottom, then the egg, then the lettuce, bacon and tomatoes. Cut in half and eat right away.

Breakfast BLT Sandwich is a mouth-watering BLT for breakfast. Only with an egg and savory cream cheese!

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 slices bacon
1 egg
3 slices thick bread, try a seed and grain variety
2 tablespoons savory cream cheese, such as garlic and chive or garden vegetable
4 slicess of tomato
4 leaves lettuce leaves, romaine or iceberg for crunch
pricks frill picks, to hold your sandwich together

Steps:

  • Cook the bacon to your liking. Place it on paper towels to drain any extra grease. In a skillet, fry your egg to your preferred temperature. Toast the bread and spread one side of all 3 slices with the cream cheese (see note). Top the cream cheese on the bottom slice with 2 tomato slices, then 3 slices of bacon, then 2 leaves of lettuce. Add another slice of toast, cream cheese side up, and on top of that place your egg. Then tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, and the final slice of bread. Place frill picks at each corner to hold the sandwich together. Slice in half and serve.
