Basic Beer Mop | Beef Loving Texans image

Yield 2 Cups

Number Of Ingredients 8

12 oz. beer
½ cup cider vinegar
½ cup water
½ cup oil, preferably canola or corn
½ medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. Brisket Seasoning

Steps:

  • Whisk ingredients together in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil and lower heat until reduced.
  • Mop over brisket every hour until it is cooked.

1/2 med Onion, minced
2 x Cloves Garlic, chopped
2 Tbsp. Mansion barbecue spice mix
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Stir all ingredients together in a medium bowl. Apply the sauce with a small string "mop" for barbecue, or possibly with a pastry brush. Variations: Substitute stock for the beer, or possibly inexpensive dry wine (red for the meat or possibly white for the poultry or possibly fish). Yield: 2 to 3 c.
