My husband loves pasta and I am not a huge fan of the standards like spaghetti so I always look for ways to change it up so I don't get burned out. I tried this one the other night and it was a hit, I will do it again.

1 pound(s) angel hair pasta
1 package(s) mozzerella cheese
1 cup(s) fresh grated parmesan cheese
1 pound(s) thick cut bacon
1 stick(s) butter
1/2 cup(s) flat leaf parsley
3 large eggs
1 cup(s) plain bread crumbs
- olive oil for drizzling
- favorite sauce (marinara, tomato basil, pesto etc.)

Steps:

  • cook bacon lightly crispy and set aside (you will chop and use this later)
  • cook pasta for 4-6 minutes in boiling water (you want this al dente do not over cook -- refer to your packaging for cooking times that are specific to your brand) then drain well
  • in a large bowl, gently toss the pasta with 1/2 the parmesan cheese, salt and pepper, eggs 1/2 the butter and parsley until well covered
  • prepare a 9" spring pan by spraying with non-stick cooking spray (you can do this in a cosserole dish if need be but it is easier to serve when done in a spring pan)
  • sprinkle aprox 1/3 of the bread crumbs in the bottom of the pan
  • add 1/3 pasta mix into pan then cover with 1/2 the mozzerella and chopped bacon
  • repeat step 6
  • place the remaining pasta in pan and press down gently
  • mix remaining parmesan and bread crumbs and sprinkle evenly over the top then cube the remaining butter and place evenly around the top, drizzle olive oil all over the top and bake for 45 minutes until golden brown
  • Serve with a little your favorite sauce (this is not spaghetti so you only want to use the sauce as a compliment not a dressing that covers all the flavor) I used Marinara sauce the first time and on the leftovers I used a nice Pesto sauce they were both great I am gonna try a creamy vodka sauce next time..experiment and enjoy. (this reheats well I have not frozen any so I am not sure about freezing it)

1/3 cup chopped parsley
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
1 teaspoon dried oregano
9 ounces uncooked angel hair pasta
16 ounces mild thick & chunky salsa
1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup shredded monterey jack cheese

Steps:

  • With 1 tablespoon butter, grease pan. Combine eggs, half and half, yogurt, swiss cheese, feta cheese, parsley, basil, and oregano in medium bowl. Spread 1/2 of the pasta on bottom of prepared pan. Cover with salsa. Add 1/2 of the shrimp. Cover with remaining shrimp. Sprinkle monterey jack cheese over top. Bake in preheated 350 degree. 30 minutes or until bubbly. Let stand 10 minutes.
