olive oil cooking spray
1 pound fresh asparagus, tough ends trimmed
¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Spray the inside of a 9x13 casserole dish with olive oil cooking spray. Place asparagus in the dish and lightly spray spears with cooking spray.
  • Sprinkle asparagus with Parmesan cheese, sea salt, and garlic powder.
  • Roast in preheated oven until fork easily punctures thickest part of stem, about 12 minutes.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 pound asparagus, trimmed
1 teaspoon olive oil
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 fresh lemon, cut into wedges

Steps:

  • Place oven rack on top third of oven.
  • Preheat oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C).
  • Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add asparagus, cover, and steam until barely tender, 2 to 4 minutes depending on thickness.
  • Place steamed asparagus on a rimmed baking sheet.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and roll asparagus spears in oil until they are coated.
  • Sprinkle with ground black pepper and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Do not turn or shake asparagus.
  • Serve with lemon wedges.
