all-purpose flour
bell pepper
brown sugar
canola oil
cider vinegar
cornctarch
eggs
garlic
ketchup
milk
onion
orange juice
pineapple
pork
soy sauce

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, Chinese five-spice powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  • In another mixing bowl, combine beaten egg and milk. Whisk well.
  • Dredge cubed pork in the flour mixture first, then dip them into the egg and then back into the flour. Sprinkle coated meat with canola oil.
  • Place chunked bell peppers and onions in the air fryer basket. Sprinkle with a little oil. Fry at 400 F (200 C) for 5 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Meanwhile, start making the sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, orange juice, soy sauce, and garlic. Mix well and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
  • When peppers and onions have finished frying, stir them along with the pineapple chunks into the pan. Continue simmering and stirring, for a further 2 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat , set aside and keep warm.
  • Add cubed pork to the air fryer basket. Fry at 400 F (200 C) for 6 minutes, shaking the basket for the last minute of the cooking process.
  • Remove fried pork from the fryer and toss with the pineapple, peppers, and sauce. Serve hot.
