1 Half Stick (1/4 cup) Land O Lakes® Butter softened
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 large Land O Lakes® Egg (yolk only)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven or toaster oven to 350°F. 
  • Beat butter and sugars together in small bowl until creamy. Add egg yolk and vanilla; beat until well mixed.
  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt in another small bowl. Add flour mixture and chocolate chips to butter mixture. Stir, by hand, until combined.
  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.

Is there anything better than a really fantastic homemade chocolate chip cookie? These bakery-style thick cookies have crisp edges and soft and chewy centers, with plenty of chocolate chips sprinkled throughout. We dare say they are the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies!

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 12-oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Line sheet pan with parchment paper. In bowl of stand mixer fitted with paddle attachment, or in large bowl with hand-held mixer, beat butter, brown sugar and sugar until creamy, about 2-3 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, mixing after each. Add vanilla.In medium bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to butter mixture all at once and mix on low until combined. Stir in chocolate chips, reserving 1/2 cup of the chips. Use large cookie scoop or 1/4 cup to measure out cookie dough. Use your hands to roll into balls and place on prepared sheet pan 3 inches apart (you’ll get 6 cookies to a pan). Top each with a few reserved chocolate chips. Bake until edges are golden but middles still look a little doughy, about 11-12 minutes. If you prefer crisp chocolate chip cookies, bake until middles are golden, about 12-13 minutes. Let cool on pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
