Turkey meatballs with spaghetti | Recipes | WW USA image

We used lean ground turkey instead of beef to make the meatballs for this classic Italian dish. If you want to lighten up the recipe even more, swap in spiralized zucchini for the spaghetti. You can spiralize your own squash or buy it already prepped as zucchini noodles in the produce department of your supermarket. You'll also find spiralized carrots, beets and other vegetables which are great for this dish, too.

1 small clove(s) Garlic clove(s) minced
0.25 tsp Table salt
8 oz Uncooked spaghetti
0.333 cup(s) Dried plain breadcrumbs
1 cup(s) Canned tomato sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  • Combine turkey, egg whites, bread crumbs, poultry seasoning, garlic, and salt in a medium bowl. Shape about 1/4 cup each of turkey mixture into balls; arrange on a cookie sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake until turkey is no longer pink inside, about 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to manufacturer's directions, excluding oil and salt; drain. Combine cooked spaghetti with sauce and warm over medium heat. Remove from heat, add meatballs and toss to coat.
  • Serving size: 3/4 heaping cup of spaghetti and 2 meatballs

0.333 cup(s) Canned tomato paste
2 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar
3 tsp Dried oregano
1 tsp Table salt
0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes or to taste
2 pound(s) Uncooked 93% lean ground turkey
0.5 cup(s) Whole wheat Panko breadcrumbs
2 Tbsp Dried basil
1 tsp Fennel seeds crushed
0.5 tsp Black pepper

Steps:

  • Stir together tomatoes, tomato paste, vinegar, 2 teaspoons oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper flakes in 5- or 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Mix together turkey, panko, basil, fennel seeds, remaining 1 teaspoon oregano, and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, and black pepper in large bowl until combined well but not overmixed. With damp hands, shape turkey mixture into 24 meatballs. Add to slow cooker. Cover and cook until meatballs are cooked through and flavors are blended, 6 to 7 hours on Low.
  • Per serving: 3 meatballs and 1/3 cup sauce
