Homemade laundry Starch | Just A Pinch Recipes image

Do you, like me, love the crisp feel of freshly starched clothes but hate buying the never ending bottles of spray starch. When I was a child we made our own spray starch. Regular corn starch was dissolved into water and poured into a shaker. Then the starch and water solution was sprinkled onto the laundry to be ironed.

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 teaspoon(s) cornstarch
1 cup(s) room temperature water
1 - spray bottle
1 - drop of favorite essential oil (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix cornstarch with the water until completely dissolved. If desired add one drop of your favorite essential oil to give your clothes a nice smell).
  • Pour mixture into a spray bottle then shake the bottle for a few seconds each time before using.
