1st run I only used krusteez pancake mix, but the onion rings tasted bland. So, just like some of the other reviewers have noted, I added garlic powder, onion powder, cajun seasoning, and a little frank's red hot sauce. The onion rings were outstanding. I also didn't see a spanish onion so I used a vidalia onion.
