This is a very flavorful dish that my brothers named Death By Garlic. Warning: If one person has this, you'd better all have some! Beautiful flavor and zest. (I like to brown kielbasa sausage and toss it in, then sprinkle feta cheese on top. Yum!)

Number Of Ingredients 7

½ cup olive oil
10 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 pound dry penne pasta
? cup grated Romano cheese

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to directions
  • In a pan, brown garlic in oil. Add salt, pepper and parsley and remove from heat.
  • Toss penne pasta with garlic mixture and Romano cheese and serve!

Pasta with herbs, delicious sauteed garlic, and plenty of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Chop the garlic so that some is minced and some is larger pieces. You can substitute 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning blend for the fresh herbs.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (16 ounce) package dry penne pasta
1 medium head garlic, peeled and chopped
½ cup olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
  • In a skillet, saute garlic in oil on low heat, just hot enough to make the garlic sizzle; about 10 to 15 minutes. Season with basil, oregano, parsley, and crushed red pepper, and remove from heat.
  • In a large bowl, toss cooked pasta with garlic and herb mixture, and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan, and serve.

This pickled garlic is great for snacking on straight from the jar, or you can add it to salads or even cooked recipes. Many grocery stores now carry peeled garlic. If you live near a Korean market, that is a great place to buy peeled garlic, as they always have it and generally have a high turnover, so the garlic is very fresh. I put 1/4 teaspoon of Pickle Crisp in each jar, but Food.com doesn't know what that is, so it won't let me put it in the ingredients list.
