CHINESE FRIED RICE WITH SHRIMP RECIPE - FOOD.COM

Chinese Fried Rice with Shrimp Recipe - Food.com image

This was my mother's favorite way to use up leftover white rice. It really doesn't taste like the fried rice you get at a restaurant, but it still a great meal. I typically throw in whatever vegetables I have in my kitchen, and leave out the shrimp or chicken. I also cut this down to accommodate the amount of rice I have. Cooking time does not include making rice, chicken or shrimp since this is usually made out of leftovers.

Total Time 10 minutes

Prep Time 10 minutes

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 cups cooked rice, cold
3 tablespoons oil
3/4 cup scallion, sliced
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups diced cooked shrimp (optional) or 1 1/2 cups diced cooked chicken (optional)
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons parsley, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Make rice in advance and refrigerate.
  • Heat the oil in a skillet. Stir in the rice until lightly browned, pressing out any lumps.
  • Mix in the scallions, salt, pepper and shrimp or chicken. Saute for 1 minute.
  • Make a well in the center of the rice and pour the egg into it, stirring until barely set.
  • Stir egg into the rice mixture.
  • Add the parsley and soy sauce and stir. Cook 1 more minute and serve immediately.
  • For Vegetarian omit both the chicken and the shrimp.

SICHUAN-STYLE SHRIMP RECIPE | EATINGWELL
Chinese cooks typically stir-fry shrimp in their shells for a more flavorful dish. You can do the same, but we recommend first removing the tiny legs. While rice may seem like the logical side, braised greens, such as chard or spinach, are actually just as traditional.

COLD SHRIMP RECIPE - SIMPLE CHINESE FOOD
Cold shrimp, a snack from a certain place in Sichuan, made from rice pulp. Similar to ice powder, it is a cool summer dessert. I always thought that cold prawns are nothing more than making cold cakes into granules, resembling small prawns. Until one day, I inadvertently saw cold shrimp powder and cold cake powder on Taobao turned out to be sold as two different products. Suddenly I was puzzled, aren't cold cake powder and cold shrimp powder the same thing? They don’t seem to have any difference in taste. There is jelly cake powder in my hand, just wait for an experiment when the weather becomes too hot.
On that day, when the sun was shining brightly, the application for ice powder was rejected, and the ice powder was used to make cold shrimp. The experiment was considered very successful, but unfortunately, the colander hole was too small, the cold shrimp squeezed out was too small and too small, and the tadpole with a tail was almost a small bead. Although the shape was out of standard, it proved his conjecture after all. In the future, I have to think about it, maybe it should be-where do I get a big hole colander?

  • Pour the cold cake paste into a colander, and prepare a bowl of cold water under the colander. The cold cake batter drips into the cold water from a colander and becomes a tadpole with a tail. Take out the tadpoles, put them in a bowl, add an appropriate amount of red syrup, and sprinkle a little peanuts to eat.
