Reames Old-Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings Recipe image

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
12 ounces Boneless, Skinless chicken breasts, cut into 3/4" chunks
½ cup Chopped onion
1 quart (32oz) chicken broth
½ cup Diced celery
1 tablespoon Parsley flakes
½ teaspoon Black pepper
1 bag (12oz) Reames Frozen Flat Dumplings
2 cups Frozen peas and carrots

Steps:

  • 1) In a large pot, heat oil, Add chicken and onions, Sauté unil chicken is slightly browned.
  • 2) Add broth, parsley and pepper, Bring mixture to a boil.
  • 3) Add Reames Frozen Flat Dumplings, stirring to separate, return to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 25 min. Stir occasionally to prevent dumpling from sticking. Add peas and carrots and simmer an additional 5 min. Or until dumplings are desired tenderness.

1/2 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
1-1/2 cups chicken broth
1 medium carrot, sliced
1 small potato, peeled and cubed
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons chopped celery
1 bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
DUMPLINGS:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch ground cloves
Dash salt
3 tablespoons 2% milk

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine the first nine ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Discard bay leaf. , For dumplings, in a small bowl, combine the flour, parsley, baking powder, cloves and salt. Stir in milk just until moistened. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto simmering chicken mixture. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in a dumpling comes out clean (do not lift the cover while simmering).
