HOMEMADE CHEESE ROLLS RECIPE - THE CRAFT PATCH

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cup warm milk
1 egg
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1/4 cup butter (softened)
3 1/2 cups flour (approximately)
2-4 cups cheese (any variety)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/2 cup butter (softened)

Steps:

  • Add all dough ingredients to the bowl of a stand mixer and mix until the dough forms a ball. Cover and let raise until double.
  • Roll dough into a big rectangle. Spread softened (not melted) butter over all the dough. Sprinkle with cheese and seasonings.
  • Starting at the long end of the rectangle, roll tightly just like when you make cinnamon rolls. Cut into slices, place on a baking sheet and raise for 20 minutes or so. Bake at 350 until golden brown and bubbly, about 18-20 minutes.

4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 package (1/4 ounces) active dry yeast
2 cups 2% milk
1 tablespoon butter
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 large egg white, beaten

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast. In a saucepan, heat milk and butter to 120°-130°. Add to dry ingredients; beat until smooth. Stir in cheese and enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Do not knead. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes (dough will be soft)., Punch dough down; divide into 3 portions. Shape each portion into 12 balls. Place in 3 greased 9-in. round baking pans. Cover and let rise in a warm place until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes. Brush with egg white. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
