1 pound lean ground beef
Salt, if desired

8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American
1 1/3 cups deli coleslaw
4 potato hamburger buns, split
1 cup pulled pork in barbecue sauce, warmed
1/2 cup French-fried onions

Steps:

  • Heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.
  • Form ground beef into 4 patties; season with salt and pepper, if desired.
  • Place patties onto grill. Grill, turning once, 10-14 minutes or until internal temperature reaches at least 160°F and meat is no longer pink in center. Top each burger with 2 slices cheese; continue grilling until cheese is melted.
  • Place 1/3 cup coleslaw onto bottom half of each bun. Top each with 1 burger, 1/4 cup pulled pork, 2 tablespoons French-fried onions and top half of bun.

1 large onion, finely chopped
¾ cup ketchup
? cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons paprika
2 pounds boneless beef chuck roast, cut into two large pieces
2 cloves garlic, halved
Salt and pepper
1 1 pound container prepared coleslaw
6 hamburger buns

Steps:

  • In a large slow cooker, combine the onion, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar and paprika.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut slits all over the roast. Rub the meat with the cut sides of the garlic. Tuck the remaining bits of garlic into the slits and season generously with salt and pepper. Add to the slow cooker and coat with the sauce. Cover and cook on low heat until tender, 7 to 8 hours.
  • Using tongs, remove the beef from the sauce; shred. Skim off and discard the fat from the sauce, stir in the shredded beef and season with salt and pepper. Sandwich the meat, topped with some coleslaw, on the buns; serve with more coleslaw on the side.

  • Seal the beef joint on all sides in a frying pan, with the onion quarters then transfer to a slow cooker along with the peppercorns. Make up the stock with the water and pour over the meat – the liquid needs to cover half the meat so add a little more or less if required, depending on the size of your slow cooker. Pour over ½ bottle of barbecue sauce. Put on the lid and cook for 7-8 hours. Turn and baste the meat occasionally during cooking. When the meat is cooked and really tender, turn off the slow cooker but leave in the cooking liquid to rest. (If you’re not making the burgers now, cover and chill the meat in the cooking liquid then reheat when required.) Make the coleslaw by combining the cabbage, carrots and onion in a bowl with the mayonnaise and parsley. Lift the meat onto a plate or board and discard any fat or gristle. Use two forks to shred the meat and place in a bowl with a couple of teaspoons of the cooking juices. Stir in the remaining barbecue sauce. Toast the brioche buns and spoon a little coleslaw on the bottom of each bun, followed by a slice of tomato. Pile on some shredded beef and top with a few sprigs of watercress and the toasted bun lid. Serve with potato wedges and an extra dipping bowl of barbecue sauce on the side.
