This is the easiest recipe ever....and I dont cook roast beef any other way because no matter what, you end up with a wonderfully moist roast every time. Oh yeah and there is no oven mess to clean up afterwoods.

1 bolar roast
1 (45 g) packet French onion soup mix
1 oven cooking bag

Steps:

  • Place dry soup min in bag and shake.
  • Put beef in bag and roll around to coat.
  • Seal bag (do not pierce)and place in moderate oven.
  • Cooking time will depend on how you like your beef cooked.
  • I like mine well done -- dont worry it will be moist and flavoursome.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Remove meat from bag, reserve juices to make the worlds best gravy!
  • note: This recipe is best for a bolar roast. Topside etc. is a bit too lean and wont turn out as tender.

1 large Reynolds Oven Cooking bag
1/2 cup flour
1 (3 oz) can Tomato sauce
1/2 cup Water
1 teaspoon instant bouillon or 4 pound beef rump roast
3 medium Carrot
2 medium Onion
3 stalks Celery cut in 1 inch slices
1 medium red or green peppers cut in 1 inch squares
8 Potato

Steps:

  • "Shake flour in large size bag, oven cooking bag; place in baking bag, roll dough top of bag, add tomato sauce, water, instant bouillon, salt and pepper. Squeeze bag gently to blend. Trim fat from roast. Place roast in bag. Peel and quarter carrots and onions, add to bag with celery, red or green peppers and potatoes. Turn bag gently to coat ingredients with sauce. Close bag with nylon tie. Make 6 half inch slits in top. Bake 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender. Spoon gravy from bag over roast and vegetables."
