1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped fine
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 (10 ounce) can mushroom soup
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
12 slices fresh brown bread

Steps:

  • Trim crusts from bread and butter.
  • Place butter side down in tart tins.
  • Brown beef and add onion, worcestersauce and soup.
  • Slowly stir in cheese.
  • Mix well.
  • Fill tart shells with mixture.
  • Bake 350 for 35 minutes.
  • These freeze well. After removing from freezer, cook 10 minutes before serving.

Ah, finger foods! The only thing we like more than a tart is a bunch of mini tarts, in delicious bite-sized shape. These are made with ground beef and flavored with thyme, nutmeg, and seven spices. Want more? How about some add-ons like crispy bacon and melted mozzarella? Just make sure your craving doesn’t make you also eat your fingers!

Number Of Ingredients 9

7 ounces of puff pastry
7 ounces of ground beef
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon seven spice
salt
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
pepper
4 bacon slices, fried and chopped
5 ounces of low moisture mozzarella, shredded

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 380 degrees F/190 degrees C.
  • Flour your counter top and roll out the puff pastry using a rolling pin.
  • Use a round cutter to cut small circles of puff pastry (about 2 inches/5 cm diameter). Make about 12 circles.
  • Grease with butter or vegetable oil a 12-cup muffin pan.
  • Place each puff pastry circle into one cup, and press them with your fingers to the bottom.
  • Put the ground beef in a large bowl.
  • Add the spices and the chopped fried bacon. Mix everything with a fork.
  • Prick the puff pastry’s bottom with the fork.
  • Fill each cup with ground beef mixture and top with shredded mozzarella.
  • Bake the tarts for 30 minutes.
  • Serve as is or with a dip.
