Who doesn't love a crispy McDonald's hash brown from time to time? It is a delicious breakfast item that you can eat on the go. Now you can make them right at home instead of buying them.

4 potatoes, peeled, parboiled, and grated
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup flour
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
2 tablespoon butter, softened
vegetable oil, for frying

Steps:

  • Step 1: In a large bowl, combine four grated potatoes, 1 egg, 1/3 cup flour, salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons butter.
  • Step 2: Once all of the ingredients are well mixed, make six equal-sized patties.
  • Step 3: Place about 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry patties for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

1 large potato

1 free range egg

Vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Start by grating the potato into very thin slices using a cheese grater and then pat down with a piece of paper towel. Transfer to a clean tea towel to get rid of any excess moisture. Put a little bit in at a time and squeeze the living life out of it. You’ll be surprised by how much juice you get out of it. Crack an egg over the dry grated potato and season with salt and pepper, before mixing. Give it a good old mush and get it shaped in your hand. Add it to a frying pan on a medium to low heat. Only flipping when it’s got its signature golden brown shade. At the end - tilt the pan so the hash brown is covered in hot oil for extra crispiness.
