How to Make Chocolate Edibles with Coconut Oil – LEVO Oil ... image

Number Of Ingredients 8

A double boiler
Gummy or Candy Molds (to pour the melted chocolate into to form its shape)
The LEVO II
The LEVO herb press
The LEVO herb blocks (optional)
Your choice of flower
Coconut oil
Your choice of chocolate chips or wafer

Steps:

  • Take your medicinal flower or favorite hemp and place it into the LEVO herb pod. There’s no need to grind it, but if you choose to, be sure not to grind it too finely. It needs to be coarse enough not to seep into your oil. Coarser herbs also infuse better.
  • Place the LEVO herb pod into the LEVO II reservoir.
  • Measure 16 oz. of coconut oil. If the coconut oil is solid, as is common, you can use a kitchen scale to measure out 16 oz. or 2 cups.
  • Place the measured coconut oil into the LEVO II reservoir with your flower. Close the LEVO II lid.
  • Using the time and temperature calculator on our site, set the temperature on your LEVO II to 160-175 degrees Fahrenheit. Infuse your coconut oil in the LEVO II for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the time suggested for medicinal hemp on the time and temperature calculator.
  • Using the LEVO herb press to squeeze the extra infused oil from the medicinal flower or hemp, pour your warm infused coconut oil into a container. Be sure the container has a proper seal so that the coconut oil won’t spoil.
  • Keep your infused coconut oil in your cabinet, or you can freeze it.
  • Using a double boiler, fill the bottom pot with 1 cup of water. Boil water on high heat.
  • Set the heat at medium-low to low, and place 2 cups of chocolate into the top double boiler pot. The steam from the bottom of the double boiler will melt the chocolate above.
  • Gently stir as the chocolate begins to melt, and continue stirring occasionally while the chocolate melts, for about 5 minutes or until the chocolate is fully melted.
  • Add 4 tablespoons of your flower-infused coconut oil to the pot with the chocolate. (If using the Levo Herb Blocks, use 1 and ? blocks of oil.)
  • Continue stirring until the mixture is completely melted and combined.
  • Remove the pot containing the chocolate from the pot containing the boiling water and set it aside.
  • Pour or scoop the chocolate out of the pot into your molds. You can use whichever molds you like, we love our Gummy and Candy molds. To remove any air bubbles from your molds, gently tap the molds with your hand or against the counter.
  • Place molds in the freezer or fridge for approximately 15 minutes.
  • After the molds set, remove your flower-infused chocolates from the molds and place them in your desired storage container or a ziplock bag. To keep fresh, store the chocolate edibles in the fridge or freezer.
