- In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugars and oil. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add flour, salt, baking soda, cream of tartar and cinnamon. Stir in the pecans if desired. Cover and refrigerated for 3 hours or until easy to handle., Roll into 1-in. balls. Place 2-in. apart on greased baking sheets; flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. If desired, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. , Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until set.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in egg and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and baking soda; gradually beat into creamed mixture., Shape into 1-in. balls. Roll in additional sugar. Place on greased baking sheets; flatten with a glass. Bake until set, 10-12 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.

On a floured surface, roll each piece of dough into a 9"-x-10" rectangle, about 1/4" thick. In small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Brush rectangles with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar mixture. Tightly roll up each rectangle into a tight log. Slice into ½"-thick slices and transfer to prepared baking sheets, spaced 1" apart. Bake until lightly golden, 12 to 14 minutes. Let cool on sheets 5 minutes. In small bowl, combine powdered sugar with milk and drizzle over cookies.
