HOW TO MAKE CASSIS DRINK RECIPES

Steps:
- Place the sugar and all of the spices (except the nutmeg) into a large, heavy-bottomed pan.
- Add the bay leaves and use a speed peeler to pare the zest of the lemon and oranges. Add to the pan, slice the oranges in half and squeeze in the juice.
- Pour in just enough of the wine to cover all the ingredients. Place the pan over a medium heat, bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until all of the sugar is dissolved and you have a lovely fragrant syrup.
- Add the rest of the wine and the crème de cassis, then gently heat for 10 minutes, until warm and fragrant. Be careful not to let the mixture boil. Serve hot, with fresh nutmeg grated on top, and mince pies.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST MIMOSA - INSPIRED TASTE
Mimosas are perfect for brunch, birthdays, holidays, and weddings. For the best mimosa, use a dry sparkling wine, not sweet. We usually will spend $12 to $15 on the sparkling wine we add to our mimosas. Your best bet is to look for “Cava,” which comes from Spain, or an American sparkling wine that’s around $15. A dry Prosecco is a great option, too.

- Fill eight champagne flutes half full with chilled sparkling wine. Top with orange juice. If you are using it, add 1 tablespoon of Grand Marnier to each glass.

- Fill a small glass — or rocks glass — with ice. Add the vodka and coffee liqueur and give it a few stirs to mix. Top with cream. For the layered look, slowly pour the cream over the back of a spoon held over the surface of the drink. Swirl the cream into the drink before drinking.
