Topping
3 cups pre-shredded cabbage
1/3 cup coleslaw dressing
1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
Sandwich
4 (7-inch) hoagie buns, split
3 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter softened
1 pound (1 pound) thinly sliced ham
4 ounces Cheddar cheese, sliced
2 ounces Land O Lakes® Monterey Jack Cheese sliced

Steps:

  • Heat broiler. Combine all topping ingredients in bowl; toss lightly. Set aside.
  • Place buns onto ungreased baking sheet, cut-side up. Lightly spread cut-sides with butter. Layer ham evenly onto both sides of buns. Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat, 1-2 minutes, until heated through. Top with cheese slices. Continue broiling 1 minute until cheeses are melted.
  • Spoon about 1/3 cup topping over cheese on bottom half of each bun; cover with top half of bun. Serve immediately.

Honey mustard is a great combination with ham and Swiss cheese!

1 can (11 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original French Bread
2 tablespoons honey mustard
1/4 lb sliced cooked deli ham
2 slices (about 3/4 oz each) Swiss or Cheddar cheese, cut in half diagonally

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Cut loaf of dough crosswise in half to make 2 loaves. Place loaves seam sides down and 3 inches apart on cookie sheet. With sharp knife, cut 3 diagonal slashes, 1/2 inch deep, on top of each.
  • Bake 22 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 2 minutes.
  • With serrated knife, cut loaves in half horizontally. Spread 1 tablespoon mustard on bottom half of each loaf. Top each with half of the ham and 2 triangles of cheese. Cover each with top half of loaf.
