GREEK HONEY BALLS, LOUKOUMADES RECIPE | VAHREHVAH



Greek honey balls, Loukoumades recipe | vahrehvah image

Loukoumades are a popular Greek sweet, balls of dough deep fried until golden then drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon.

Prep Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 15 minutes

Steps:

  • In a pan add water, sugar boil to make a sugar syrup. Once syrup is boiling add honey, rose water and mix it. In a bowl add all purpose flour, yeast, sugar powder, ghee, little water and mix nicely to make a slakey dough, allow it prove for 45 to 1 hr. Heat oil and drop in small dumpling with hand like as shown in video. Deep fry and place in sugar syrup for 5 minutes, transfer into serving bowl and on top sprinkle cinnamon powder. Now loukoumades is ready to serve.

1 cup old-fashioned oats
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup ground flax seed
½ cup chocolate chips
⅓ cup honey
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Combine oats, peanut butter, ground flax seed, chocolate chips, honey, chia seeds, and vanilla extract together in a bowl. Cover and chill dough in the refrigerator 30 minutes.
  • Remove dough from refrigerator; roll into balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
