Steps:

• Tear the bread into large pieces, place in a bowl and pour warm water over to soak. Squeeze dry and add the ground beef  and egg and mix to combine. Peel amd finely chop the onions. Heat the oil in a skillet over meidum heat and saute the onions until translucent and add to the meat mixture. Rinse the parsley, shake dry, pluck the leaves and chop finely. Add to the meat mixture along with the spices and herbs. Working with some of the mixture, shape into  4-6 large meatballs about 1.5-2 cm (approximately 1/2 to 3/4-inch)  and  4-6 more smaller and smaller balls. Flatten each meatball slightly, fill each with a cheese cube, shape the meat around it to form a ball, then turn in breadcrumbs patting to adhere. In a deep saucepan or fryer, heat the oil to about 175°C (approximately 350°F)  working in batches, deep-fry the meatballs; drain on paper towels.
• Arrange 6 different sized balls, from large to small on plates. Draw a face with ketchup, mayonnaise and pepper on each of the largest balls and top the smaller balls with a leaf of watercress and ketchup Serve with salad (food for the caterpillar).

Steps:

• In a medium mixing bowl combine Buttermilk Pancake Mix, milk, egg, and oil. Stir just until combined but still slightly lumpy.
• Heat a lightly greased griddle or heavy skillet over medium heat until a few drops of water dance across the surface. For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup batter onto the hot griddle. Spread batter into a circle about 4 inches in diameter.
• Cook over medium heat until pancakes are golden brown, turning to cook second sides when pancake surfaces are bubbly and edges are slightly dry (about 2 to 3 minutes per side).
• Let youngsters make their own funny faces on the cooked pancakes, using their imaginations and bananas for eyes, peaches for eyebrows and mouths, raisins for noses and mouths, and coconut for whiskers. Serve warm. Makes 16 pancakes.
