EASY HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE PUDDING RECIPE: HOW TO MAKE IT
My mother used to make this dessert whenever she could. During the Depression it was hard to find chocolate, but if she found some, she saved enough to make this pudding. I make it now and think of her every time I prepare it.

Steps:
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Add milk; stir until smooth. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes longer. , Stir in chocolate chips; cook and stir until melted. Remove from the heat. Stir in vanilla. Spoon into dessert dishes. Serve warm or chilled.

- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Spoon into individual serving dishes. Chill until serving. If desired, garnish with whipped cream and M&M's.

- Combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan. Stir or whisk together. Pour in milk and egg yolks, and whisk together. Stir over medium heat until the mixture just barely comes to a boil and becomes thick, about 6-8 minutes (maybe less, maybe more; just watch it!) The second it starts to bubble and thicken (note: It should be thick like pudding!) remove it from the heat. Add the chocolate, vanilla, and butter, and stir until everything is beautifully combined. Pour the pudding into the pie crust (if there is extra, spoon it into small dishes) and place in the fridge to chill for 4 hours uncovered. Cut into slices and serve with whipped cream!
