DIXIE PIE RECIPE: HOW TO MAKE IT - TASTE OF HOME

Dixie Pie Recipe: How to Make It - Taste of Home image

When Mom baked this old-fashioned sugar pie, family members would clamor for second servings. We love the combination of cinnamon, coconut, nuts and raisins. She'd sometimes toss in a few chocolate chips for variety. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner were not complete without this dessert.

DIXIE PIE-TIPPINS RESTAURANT STYLE | JUST A PINCH RECIPES

Dixie Pie-Tippins Restaurant Style | Just A Pinch Recipes image

When Tippins Restaurant went out of business I was so sad at the thought of never having this pie again. It was just the best place to go for a late night coffee and pie "decompress" with a girlfriend. Then Hen House markets secured all of Tippins old pie recipes and started selling them in their stores. It still wasn't the same for me. I want to sit down with warm, fresh made pie and coffee and chat my bestie up for an hour. Now I can. So can you! Enjoy this pie warm with or without vanilla bean ice cream and a steamy cup of great coffee...and a friend.

RE: TIPPIN'S DIXIE PIE - RECIPELINK.COM
Dixie Pie is just like a pecan pie but it's made with walnuts and chocolate chips. You heat it up, serve it with ice cream and you're in heaven. It has no coconut. Their German Chocolate Pie has coconut, though, and it's very good with a gooey, chocolate, nut and coconut filling.
