This is one of my favorite cookie recipes that has been passed down to me from my Grandmother. Friends and family love them-- they are so addictive!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl in a microwave. Add sugar and stir to combine. Add beaten egg and mix well. Stir in oats, flour, vanilla extract, salt, and baking powder.
- Drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden brown, about 8 minutes. Let cool completely before removing cookies from foil.

GRANDMA'S GINGERSNAP COOKIES RECIPE | ALLRECIPES
This melt-in-your-mouth ginger cookie recipe that I received from my grandmother has been enjoyed in my family since 1899.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Sift the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt into a mixing bowl. Stir the mixture to blend evenly, and sift a second time into another bowl.
- Place the shortening into a mixing bowl and beat until creamy. Gradually beat in the white sugar. Beat in the egg, and dark molasses. Sift 1/3 of the flour mixture into the shortening mixture; stir to thoroughly blend. Sift in the remaining flour mixture, and mix together until a soft dough forms. Pinch off small amounts of dough and roll into 1 inch diameter balls between your hands. Roll each ball in cinnamon sugar, and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake in preheated oven until the tops are rounded and slightly cracked, about 10 minutes. Cool cookies on a wire rack. Store in an air tight container.

- In a large bowl, cream the sugar, butter, vanilla and salt until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs and mix well. Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; add to creamed mixture. Chill until firm, about 1 hour., On a floured surface, roll dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut shapes with cookie cutters; place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 7-12 minutes (depending on size) or until light golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool completely., For the icing, in a large bowl, combine the confectioners’ sugar, extract and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Tint with food coloring. Decorate cookies as desired.
