2 16.3 ounces refrigerated biscuits (16 total)
16 red candied cherries
16 green candied cherries
½ cup butter, melted
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 - 2 tablespoon milk
½ cup sliced almonds, toasted
Red and green colored sugar (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously coat a 10-inch nonstick fluted tube pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • With kitchen scissors, cut each biscuit into 2 pieces. Using your hands, flatten each piece into a 3-inch round of dough. Place a cherry in the center of each round. Bring the edge of the dough up and around the cherry to form a ball. Pinch the edges of the dough together to seal firmly.
  • Dip each ball into the melted butter, then roll it in the granulated sugar. Layer coated balls in the prepared pan. Drizzle with any remaining butter; sprinkle with any remaining sugar.
  • Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean (If needed, cover bread with foil the last 15 minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning.) Cool bread in pan for 5 minutes. Run a small rubber spatula around edge of the bread to loosen. Invert pan onto a platter; remove pan. Cool slightly.
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk (1 tablespoon at a time) until desired consistency.
  • Drizzle icing over warm monkey bread. Top with almonds and, if desired, colored sugar. Serve warm.

1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1 stick melted margarine
3 cans (10.2 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Flaky Layers Original Biscuits (5 Count)
1 cup crushed pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a large fluted tube cake pan with cooking spray. Put half of biscuits (1.5 cans) into pan.
  • Add half of the following ingredients: brown sugar, cinnamon, pecans.
  • Pour in half of the melted margarine.
  • Add remaining biscuits.
  • Add remaining brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon and margarine.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Take off the foil and bake for 20 additional minutes to finish the bread and give it a crunchy topping!
