1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Butter 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside.
  • Combine butter, sugar, water and salt in heavy 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 7-9 minutes or until mixture comes to a full boil. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 18-22 minutes or until candy thermometer reaches 300°F or small amount of mixture dropped into ice water forms a hard brittle strand. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
  • Pour mixture onto prepared pan; spread to cover bottom of pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot candy; let stand 5 minutes. Spread melted chocolate evenly over candy.
  • Cool completely; break into pieces.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 cups graham cracker crumbs
¼ cup packed brown sugar
? cup butter, melted
½ cup finely chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix together graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/3 cup melted butter. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch pan.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven. In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil; boil for 1 minute. Pour immediately over baked cookie base.
  • Bake for 10 more minutes. Remove from oven, and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes, until chips are shiny and soft. Spread the softened chocolate evenly over the top. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cool before cutting into bars.
