FAT POCKY (CHOCOLATE-DIPPED BREADSTICKS) RECIPE | GOOD FOOD

Fat Pocky (chocolate-dipped breadsticks) Recipe | Good Food image

After my son started school, there seemed to be no end to the occasions where we had to prepare a plate of food for a school morning tea, kid's birthday party or miscellaneous pot luck. Fat Pocky was the answer – taking five minutes and three ingredients to make snacks that 25 kids will all love. Cheap, fast and easy to make for a crowd, this recipe is the perfect get-out-of-jail card for when you've been sprung with a last-minute request.

Provided by Adam Liaw

Categories     Snacks

Total Time 30 minutes

Yield SERVES 25

Number Of Ingredients 3

375g dark chocolate
1 packet plain breadsticks (grissini)
2 tbsp assorted sprinkles

Steps:

  • 1. Place the dark chocolate in a heatproof jug and microwave on high for one minute, and then for further blasts of 30 seconds until completely melted. Depending on your microwave, it may take three to four minutes to melt completely.

    2. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Pour the chocolate into a small glass and dip the ends of a bread sticks into the chocolate. Shake off any excess chocolate and lay the bread sticks on the baking sheet. Repeat for the remaining bread sticks, topping up the glass with chocolate every three bread sticks or so.

    3. Scatter the bread sticks with sprinkles before the chocolate hardens, then leave for a further 20 minutes or so to harden to the touch (they will harden completely after about one hour). Pack the fat pocky into a container for transport.

This everyday teriyaki chicken is another of Adam's 'lifesaver' recipes.
