3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour*
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
1 bag (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • In large bowl, beat sugars, butter, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
  • On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, break cookie dough into small chunks. Add pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice; stir with wooden spoon until well mixed.
  • Shape into 1 1/4-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on 2 ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake 14 to 16 minutes or until cookies spring back when touched in center. Cool on pan 5 minutes; remove to cooling rack to cool completely, about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  • In a microwave, melt 1 cup chocolate chips, unsweetened chocolate and butter; stir until smooth. Cool 10 minutes., In a large bowl, beat sugar and eggs 2 minutes.
