Round, boneless beef - 2 lb. (It should be cut into 1 inch cubes).
Onion - 4 cups. (It should be finely chopped and the quantity should be 2 pounds).
Margarine or butter - 2 tablespoons.
Ground coriander - 2 tablespoon.
Fresh ginger - 1 tablespoon (It should be minced).
Jalapeno pepper - 1 tablespoon (It should be minced).
Garlic clove - 4 nos. (They should be minced).
Tomato - 1 can (It should be coarsely chopped).
Turmeric - 1 tablespoon
Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoon
Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon (It should be freshly ground).
Cumin - 1 tablespoon.
Water - 2 cups.
Cauliflower florets - 2 cups.
Carrot - 8 oz (It should be peeled and diced).
Potato - 1 medium sized (It should be peeled and diced).
Frozen peas - I cup.

Steps:

  • Take a big Dutch oven. Now, you have to pour oil.
  • The next step is to heat the oil. The heat should be kept at a higher level.
  • Half of the beef needs to be added when the oil becomes hot. Then, you should brown the beef well on all sides.
  • It is the time to take a slotted spoon. Now, you have to transfer the beef to a bowl using the slotted spoon.
  • You need to repeat the exact procedure for the other half of beef as well.
  • Then, you have to keep it in a safe place.
  • Make sure that the oil is drained in the best manner.
  • The next step is to melt butter.
  • You should heat oven to 350 Degree F.
  • Now, add jalapeno pepper. The onion should be added. Add garlic and ginger as well. Stir well.
  • Cook for 10 minutes (stop when they turn light red).
  • Then, you have to add turmeric, pepper, coriander, slat, cumin and salt. They should be cooked for 2 minutes.
  • Now, you can add beef and coarsely chopped tomato.
  • The next step is to pour 2 cups water.
  • Bring to a boil. You should cover it. You have to bake it for 90 minutes.
  • Stop when the beef turns tender.
  • Take a large saucepan. Boil 1 1/2 quarts of salted water.
  • Then, you need to add cauliflower to this solution.
  • Then, you have to boil for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Now, you need to take the slotted spoon. You should transfer it to a medium bowl using a slotted spoon.
  • The carrot should be placed into the saucepan. Stop when the carrot turns tender. Take the carrot out and mix it with cauliflower.
  • Now, you have to boil potato in the saucepan using hot water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • It should be taken out and dried.
  • Now, you need to add potato to the vegetables (cauliflower and carrot) as well.
  • It is the time to add peas and vegetables to the Dutch oven.
  • You have to cover and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Your Asian beef stew is ready to serve.

2 tablespoons rice wine
1 tablespoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 pound beef round steak, cut into thin strips
8 ounces snow peas

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a wok or skillet over medium high heat. Stir-fry ginger and garlic for 30 seconds. Add the steak and stir-fry for 2 minutes or until evenly browned. Add the snow peas and stir-fry for an additional 3 minutes. Add the soy sauce mixture, bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Lower heat and simmer until the sauce is thick and smooth. Serve immediately.
