Pigs in a blanket? Been there, done that. But cheeseburger meatballs in a blanket dipped into homemade Big Mac-type sauce? Now that’s a total game changer no one will see coming.

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dough sheet
10 slices American cheese, each cut into quarters
40 frozen cooked homestyle meatballs, thawed (1/2 oz each)
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon sesame seed
3/4 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon dill pickle relish
1 teaspoon mustard

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Line 18x13-inch rimmed pan with cooking parchment paper. Spray parchment paper with cooking spray.
  • Unroll dough; press each sheet into 15x7-inch rectangle. Cut each rectangle into 20 (3x1 1/2-inch) rectangles, cutting into 5 rows by 4 rows. Place 1 rectangle of cheese in middle of each dough rectangle. Place frozen meatball on top of cheese, and wrap dough around meatball leaving two sides open.
  • Place wrapped meatballs, open sides touching, on cookie sheet in 2 concentric circles around 6-inch circle on parchment paper, with 17 meatballs in inner circle and 23 in outer circle.
  • In small bowl, mix egg and water. Brush evenly over dough. Sprinkle sesame seed over top. Bake 25 to 28 minutes or until dough is golden brown and thoroughly baked. Let stand 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, 1 tablespoon pickle relish and the mustard. Transfer to small serving bowl; top with remaining 1 teaspoon relish in middle.
  • Run spatula underneath cheeseburger ring to loosen. Use spatula to gently ease ring onto serving platter. Place bowl of sauce in middle of ring, and serve.

700 g ground beef
450 g bacon
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp onion powder
4 Tbsp brown sauce
½ cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
¾ cup mushrooms, chopped
10-12 hamburger dill sliced pickles, chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Mix garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion powder and 2 Tbsp of brown sauce into the ground beef. Place ground beef mixture into gallon-sized resealable bag and spread evenly; set aside. 2. Layer the additional 2 Tbsp of brown sauce, shredded cheeses, mushrooms and pickles down the centre of the ground beef blanket. 4. Fold the beef blanket on both sides toward the centre and seal completely. Seal the ends and make sure there are no holes or gaps. 5. Place the beef “roll” the centre of the bacon weave. Pull both sides of the bacon blanket to the centre and seal the beef roll inside. Seal the ends and make sure there are no holes or gaps. 6. Place the fatty into your smoker and cook for 2 hours at 110°C. Slice and serve!
