Number Of Ingredients 4

30 whole green cardamom pods
1 cup vegan sugar
1 cup water
1 vanilla bean sliced in half, or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients into a small saucepan. Turn the heat to high and stir until the sugar starts to dissolve, then lower the heat to medium.
  • Keep cooking and stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool with the cardamom pods and vanilla still in the pot.
  • Once cool, strain and store in the fridge.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 black cardamom (seeds + skin)
2 green cardamom (seeds + skin)
1/2 tsp rose water (or edible rose petals)
1 1/2 cups milk (I used oat milk)
1/2 cup brewed coffee or 2 espresso shots
Splash of maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)

Steps:

  • In a mortar and pestel, crush the seeds of green and black cardamom. In a pot, combine milk, cardamom seeds along with the skin for extra flavor, rose water, maple syrup. If using plant based milk let it heat nicely until hot or bring to a boil if using regular milk.
  • To a cup, add 1/4 cup brewed coffee or an espresso shot. Strain milk and pour in the cup, stir once to mix coffee and milk. Finish with dried edible rose petals, a sprinkle of coffee powder and ready.
