1/4 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
8 (21 g) butterfinger candy bars, Fun Size, crushed and divided
1 (12 1/4 ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping
whipped topping

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*.
  • Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan; set aside.
  • Stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • In large bowl combine eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla; stir in reserved flour mixture.
  • Gradually stir in 2 cups water; stir in half of candy.
  • Pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven; place on wire rack.
  • Using meat fork, poke holes in warm cake.
  • In small saucepan heat caramel topping over low heat until warm; drizzle over warm cake.
  • Cool completely.
  • Cut into squares.
  • Top with whipped topping and remaining candy.

1 (14 ounce) can NESTLE® CARNATION® Sweetened Condensed Milk
36 pieces NESTLE® BUTTERFINGER® Bites Candy, chopped, divided
1 (12.25 ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping
1 pint whipping cream, whipped

Steps:

  • Prepare cake according to package directions using a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  • Poke holes in cake about 1-inch apart and 1-inch deep using handle of wooden spoon. Pour sweetened condensed milk over cake. Sprinkle with half of chopped Butterfinger. Pour caramel topping over Butterfinger.
  • Spread whipped cream over cake; sprinkle with remaining chopped Butterfinger. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve. Refrigerate any uneaten cake.

Dump out excess.In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, whisking until thoroughly combined. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla and mix with an electric mixer on medium-low speed until dry ingredients are almost incorporated, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Add warm water and whiskey and mix until just combined and no dry ingredients remain (do not overmix). Pour into prepared pan.Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the deepest part of the pan comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack until cool enough to handle, then gently invert onto a wire rack. Allow to cool completely.To prepare caramel, place sugar and cream of tartar in a medium, high-sided saucepan set over medium-high heat. Pour water around edges.
