ALMOND BARK CANDIES RECIPE: HOW TO MAKE IT
I like to take these to school for the fourth graders I teach...they love them. The colorful marshmallows make these candies bright and pretty to serve—to all ages!

- In a heavy saucepan, melt candy coating and peanut butter over low heat. Remove from the heat; stir in the remaining ingredients. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spread almonds onto a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until almonds start to turn golden brown and become fragrant, 10 to 15 minutes.
- Melt candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring after each melting, 1 to 3 minutes. Add almond extract quickly and stir in the toasted almonds.
- Pour almond mixture onto a baking sheet; cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes. Break into pieces.

- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt birthday cake wafers on 50% power in 30-second intervals. Stir after each interval until smooth. Dip pretzels in melted wafers. Set on a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet to set up. Melt pink wafers in the same manner. Pour into a piping bag and snip off the end. Drizzle over the pretzels.
