- Place 2 cups milk and salt in a saucepan. Sprinkle sugar on milk and do not stir; heat over medium-high. Quickly combine cornstarch with remaining milk; add egg yolks and mix well. When milk comes to a full boil, remove saucepan from the heat and stir in cornstarch mixture. Pudding will begin to thicken. Return to the heat and cook for 1 minute. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla and butter. Pour into individual dishes. Serve warm.

- Chill in the fridge for roughly 30 minutes until firm.

- Layer on top of the chilled pie crust and place it back into the fridge to chill for at least 3 hours, and best if overnight.
- Garnish with graham cracker crumbs. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

- Place the dish in a roasting pan large enough to allow the baking dish to sit flat. Pour about 1 inch of the hottest tap water into the roasting pan, being sure not to get any water into the custard.
