Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe | Allrecipes image

Baked mushroom caps filled with a deliciously cheesy crabmeat mixture. Serve hot with lemon wedges.

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 tablespoons butter, melted
24 fresh mushrooms
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons minced green onions
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup diced cooked crabmeat
½ cup soft bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
½ teaspoon dried dill weed
¾ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
¼ cup dry white wine

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish with 3 tablespoons butter.
  • Remove stems from mushrooms. Set aside caps. Finely chop stems.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the chopped stems and green onions and cook until soft, about 3 minutes. Remove saucepan from heat. Stir in lemon juice, crabmeat, soft bread crumbs, egg, dill weed and 1/4 cup Monterey Jack cheese. Thoroughly blend the mixture.
  • Place mushroom caps in the buttered pan, and stir until caps are coated with the butter. Arrange caps cavity side up, and stuff cavities generously with the green onion and crabmeat mixture. Top with remaining Monterey Jack cheese. Pour wine into the pan around the mushrooms.
  • Bake uncovered in the preheated oven 15 to 20 minutes, until cheese is melted and lightly browned. Serve warm.

A classic favorite stuffed mushroom is taken to new heights by wrapping in a slice of bacon. Simple, but will melt in your mouth!

½ cup chopped green onions
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
20 fresh mushrooms, stems removed
1 pound sliced bacon, cut in half

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the green onions and cream cheese . Stuff mushroom caps with the cheese mixture. Wrap each mushroom with a half-slice of bacon, and secure with toothpicks. Place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until the bacon is cooked through.

  • Wipe off or wash mushrooms in cold water. Pop out stems, reserving both parts. Chop mushroom stems finely and set aside. Brown and crumble sausage. Set aside on a plate to cool.Add onions and garlic to the same skillet; cook for 2 minutes over medium low heat.Pour in wine to deglaze pan, allow liquid to evaporate.Add in chopped mushroom stems, stir to cook for 2 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Set mixture aside on a plate to cool.In a bowl, combine cream cheese and egg yolk. Stir together with Parmesan cheese.Add cooled sausage and cooled mushroom stems. Stir mixture together and refrigerate for a short time to firm up.Smear mixture into the cavity of each mushroom, creating a sizable mound over the top.Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool at least ten minutes before serving; the stuffed mushrooms taste better when not piping hot.
