1 cup white sugar
1 cup water
3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil over medium heat. Cook and stir until sugar has dissolved, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let syrup cool.

6 slices of bread
2 large eggs
1 tbsp of sugar
1 tsp of syrup
¼ cup of milk
¼ cup of heavy cream
½ tsp of ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, heavy cream, milk, ground cinnamon and maple syrup until combined.
  • Grab a skillet, and grease with butter, placing over a medium high heat.
  • Soak each slice of bread on both sides in the prepared mixture.
  • Transfer the covered bread to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until golden brown in color on both sides.
  • Repeat for each slice of bread, and serve up warm.
